UNICEF East Asia and Pacific Regional Office supports countries in strengthening capacities for the prevention and management of child wasting
Regional online course: UNICEF East Asia and Pacific Regional Office has developed an online course on Care for Children with Wasting in line with the new WHO guideline on the prevention and management of wasting and nutritional oedema (acute malnutrition) in infants and children under 5 years.
The online course offers comprehensive insights and practical guidance relevant to the regional context on addressing child wasting. Structured into easily digestible modules, this innovative online platform covers a range of topics, including the causes and consequences of child wasting, nutritional interventions, monitoring and evaluation techniques, and strategies for prevention and treatment. With interactive multimedia elements, case studies, and real-life scenarios, learners are empowered to deepen their understanding and apply evidence-based approaches in their respective contexts.
Complementing the E-Modules is the East Asia and Pacific Wasting Dashboard, a dynamic tool that offers real-time data visualization and analysis on child wasting trends across the East Asia Pacific region using country level data. Harnessing the power of data-driven insights, this dashboard enables stakeholders to track progress, identify issues, and prioritize interventions where they are needed most.
